The new planning of Empuriabrava aims at changing its urban development conceived for second houses and leisure residences for the summer period in a friendly city for its inhabitants, in order to generate other types of business models in addition to tourism and to provide equipment and infrastructures for a city that is entering the XXI century. Changing to a city model of primary dwellings with a number of key interventions such as the new waterfront, the technology park, the new city hall, the recovery of the canals as public space, greater connectivity within the city and its relationship with the nature reserve, improving the streets and canals, more equipment, the recovery of the edges as spaces of connection and interest and not as borders or encouraging the use of alternative means of transport to the car.
