Can Mates Homes III

This block of 36 homes for the developer Neinor is located directly in front of the Mirasol train station in Sant Cugat del Vallès (Barcelona). The building includes a small common area on the first floor, commercial premises on the ground floor and an underground level with parking and storage rooms.

The entrances to most of the apartments are located in the center. The day areas (living room and kitchen) are grouped on one side with a large south-facing terrace; on the other side are two bedrooms with two bathrooms. The top-level homes also have direct access to a terrace of roughly 40 m2.

For the façade, a ventilated system was devised, combining two materials: white GRC panels and extruded ceramic pieces in brown, and in black for the ground floor. The window frames are made from black aluminum and are outfitted with a system of vertical slats that camouflage the separation between apartments as well as the stairways that lead up to the roof from the top floor. The total floor area of this residential project is 4,100 m2.
