This detached house is designed to be built on the seafront of Gavà, a coastal town outside Barcelona. Built on a modest plot of land, the house is based on a radial design and consists of three geometrically separate floors articulated around a single vertical connecting axis. The result: three distinct volumes that, depending on their orientation, form and protect a group of terraces tailored to the client’s original specifications.

The first design feature to be mentioned is the separation of the children’s areas from the adults’ living spaces, while the decision to house the lounge areas on the first floor provides an exceptional view of the beach. The project extends over three floors, divided according to uses. On the ground floor are the children’s room, the playroom, and the large garden with a terrace and a pool. The living areas on the first floor are surrounded by terraces that have different geometric shapes: The main terrace has a jacuzzi overlooking the sea, while a second terrace at the back of the house offers a view of the forest. The third floor is for the adults, with a master bedroom and walk-in wardrobe, a wellness area, and a projecting living room that also offers expansive views of the surroundings.

The cladding is executed in flat, opaque surfaces to highlight the volumes, which are bold enough to be represented simply by tracing their contours. A system of fragmented folds determines the formal strategy of this project to achieve a unique appearance enriched by a particularly impressive geometry.
